Welcome back Students!
What a wonderful time to be a student at, and associated with, JCC! There are so many new initiatives, program offerings, and great learning experiences taking place that it is simply not possible to list them all here. From new academic programs such as the Respiratory Care Program, to the beautiful new William Atkinson Hall - a state-of-the art information and technology center and library on the Jackson campus, extraordinary renovations to the LeTarte (Hillsdale) Center, and of course who could forget the return of Jets athletics.
While certainly all locations of Jackson Community College programs, services, and amenities are open to all JCC students, we at JCC @ VO-TECH truly understand the time demands of pursuing an education while balancing obligations to family, work, and life. As such, we are making every possible effort to locally provide for the academic course needs, academic support needs and student services support of students at JCC @ VO-TECH, thus mitigating the need for travel to other JCC locations. With the addition of a full-array of academic support services, from face-to-face professional tutoring and student service support to online writing and math support, JCC is committed to ensuring students receive the tools necessary for academic success. Support services delivered in various methods, both face-to-face and online, is paramount as program and course delivery modalities expand.
The launch of the 2nd JCC/Siena Heights University (SHU) Accelerated Business Program is one such example of instructional programming delivered in a variety of manners. This distinctive program provides coursework via face-to-face, online, and primarily hybrid (blended online and distributed learning) formats. Within 3 years, students are afforded the opportunity to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration as part of a unique accelerated, cohort experience. In the first two years at JCC @ VO-TECH, students will earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree – B.A. and a Management Certificate. During the last year at SHU, students complete and will earn a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.
JCC @ VO-TECH is indeed proud of our educational partnership with Siena Heights University, and the numerous other partnerships with organizations and educational institutions throughout Lenawee County. At a personal level, I cannot imagine a better place than Lenawee in which to jointly address the critical educational issues currently facing our State. Without doubt, our community is poised and well capable of facing the challenge!
Sincerely,
